I eagerly, anxiously, happily, and optimistically voted for Obama again. By mail. Early.
He dramatically expanded rights and benefits for same-sex couples.
He gave affordable, quality health care coverage to tens of millions of seniors, children, and working people while instituting cost-cutting measures that will reduce our budget over time.
He regulated Wall Street.
He reduced the deficit.
He made the biggest infrastructure investment in generations.
He ended the war in Iraq and committed to the same in Afghanistan.
He prevented a depression.
He understands complexity.
He accepts scientific consensus about the grave dangers of climate change and will prepare us to mitigate the damage we’ve already done to our planet.
I may quibble with some of his decisions, but I generally agree with his values.
That’s it from me about politics until we know how this drama will end.
You had me at “he understands complexity”
I know! There’s not too much of that in our public discourse. Sigh.
Forward!
